Beach
on
Lanai
This
is one of the most interesting beaches that you will visit.
It's on the island of Lana, a short ferry ride from Lahaina
Harbor in Lahaina Town on the west side of Maui.
The
best beach on the island of
Lanai is Hulopoe Beach on the southeastern side of the island.
In fact, it's just a short walk from the harbor at Manele
Bay.
Take
the ferry to Lanai from Maui. Enjoy
Hulopoe Beach Park!

Baldwin
Beach on the North
Shore
Of Maui
Baldwin
Beach on Maui, Hawaii is one of the nicest beaches on the
windward side of the island. It's just 10 minutes from the
airport at Kahului and is within walking distance of the historic,
plantation town of Paia.
Located to the left as you approach Paia on Hwy. 36 (also
called Hana Highway), Baldwin Beach stretches for almost a
mile and has spectacular views of the West Maui mountains.
The beach park has good parking, a lifeguard on duty, restroom
facilities, and nice shady palm trees. The wind will most
likely be
blowing, sometimes fairly hard as this is the windy side of
Maui. Also, the surf can be strong, particularly in the late
afternoon.
Planning a trip to Hana? Thinking of visiting the small town
of Paia? Stop at Baldwin Beach and enjoy some of the most
beautiful shades of blue you will ever see in ocean water.
Baldwin Beach is open from 7 AM to 7 PM each day. The gate
closes promptly at 7pm, so make sure you are out of the park
before the gates are closed.
Suggestions:
* Pick-up a box lunch in Paia and have a picnic at Baldwin
Beach.
* Be cautious of the surf and check-in with the lifeguard
for current ocean conditions
* Do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
* Go in the early morning, when the water will be calmer and
the wind is blowing less.
*
Walk around the town of Paia, which is nearby and offers a
wide variety of gift stores, clothing boutiques, surf shops,
and restaurants.
*
The well-known Charley's
is in Paia and is a great place for breakfast. Try the pancakes!
You'll often see Willie Nelson at Charley's in Paia in the
late evening.
Baldwin
Beach is one of the last good beaches for sunning, relaxing,
and swimming on the windward side of Maui as the beaches north
of here get really rough.
There
are not a lot of beaches along the shoreline past Paia on
the windy road to Hana, and even around the town of Hana there
are only a couple of nice beach parks. Hana is not know for
having a lot of good beaches, as the water is often very rough
on the part of Maui.
While
on the North Shore area of Maui, drive past Paia about a mile
and you'll find the Ho'okipa
Beach, famous for wind surfing, kite boarding, and big-wave
surfing.
Paia is a nice, quaint, sugar plantation town and is worth
you spending some time visiting the shops. Parking is along
the street and there is a free parking lot as you enter the
town from Kahului.
Several
well-known artists have art galleries in Paia, showing their
latest work. Also, there are several gift stores specializing
in Hawaiian-made gift items that are ideal to take back to
friends and family.
Paia
has the last gas station for the drive to Hana. So if you're
planning to make the 52-mile journey to the small town of
Hana, check your gas before leaving Paia.
The
island of Maui boasts some of the best beaches
in the world. Maui beaches are known for calm water that is
crystal-clear in the early morning hours.
Some
of the best beaches are in two distinct locations - West
Maui
and South Maui. These are not all of the beaches on Maui -
just a few of the best!
Take
a few minutes to look at some of Maui's best beaches!
One
of the best snorkeling locations on Maui is the well-known
Black Rock
area on the western side of the island.
Black
Rock is oceanside to the Sheraton-Maui
Resort & Spa and is a calm, crystal-clear snorkeling spot
for beginners and small children.

Kaanapali
Beach Resort Area
On
Maui's west side is one of the nicest resort, dining and shopping
areas on the island - Kaanapali. It's located just off Hwy.
30 and a mile past Lahaina
Town. Famous Black Rock beach is located in the Kaanapali
Beach Resort area, along with Whaler's Village, numerous
resorts, and plenty of shopping and dining.

Swinging
Bridges Hike
The
hike to the Swinging Bridges is an easy 2 1/2 mile walk each
way and can be done in the early morning hours or late afternoon,
leaving you plenty of time to do other activities.
At
just over 10,000 feet in the air, Hakeakala Crater is one
of the most amazing places to visit on Maui - and on the planet!
The drive to Haleakala
National Park takes you through the beautiful "upcountry"
section of Maui. It's a leisure drive and is a "must-see"
location while visiting the island.
