Lanai
Shipwreck
Beach is one of the most interesting beaches that you will
visit.
It's on the island of Lana, a short ferry ride from Lahaina
Harbor in Lahaina Town on the west side of Maui.
The
best beach on the island of
Lanai is Hulopoe
Beach on the south side of the island. In fact, it's just
a short walk from the harbor at Manele Bay.

Big
Beach on Maui
Big
Beach Is One Of The Longest Stretches Of Beach On Maui.
Big
Beach at Makena State Park in Makena is one of the largest
beaches on the island. It's located on the southwest part
of the island, just past the large resorts in Wailea and past
Makena Beach.
Directions:
Take either the South Kihei Road through the Kihei area, or
take Hwy. 31 above the Kihei community. Both roads meet at
The Shops At Wailea and
the road turns into Wailea Alanui.
Shortly
after you pass the resort area, the road turns into Makena
Road. There is just the one main road, so it's difficult to
get lost. The road will begin to make turns to the right and
left, and you'll soon find yourself
in a desert-looking area of Maui. Notice the tall cactus plants
as you drive!
Shortly
after the landscape changes, you will see signs on your right
for Makena State Park. There are two main parking areas, with
the first parking area the largest.
Take
the first turn to you right after seeing the Makena State
Park sign.
Big
Beach (Oneloa in Hawaiian) is one of the longest and widest
white sand beaches on Maui, and is known as a good beach for
boogie boarding. It's also one of the last beaches to have
condos, timeshares, and buildings developed near the park.
Suggestions:
*
Be at Makena State Park before 10AM to get a parking spot.
*
There is no food or convenience store nearby. Take food &
water.
*
Try the Jawz Fish Tacos at the stand before the park entrance.
*
There are restroom facilities within the park.
*
Little Beach is just over the hill on your right as you face
the ocean. It's a clothing-optional beach.
*
Leave no valuable in your vehicle.
*
If the parking area is full, park along Makena Highway.
Big
Beach is just 10 minutes from the resorts in Wailea, 15-20
minutes from Kihei, and 45 minutes to over an hour from Lahaina
and the west side of Maui.

areas on the island - Kaanapali. It's located just off Hwy.
30 and a mile past Lahaina
Town. Famous Black
Rock beach is located in the Kaanapali
