Shipwreck
Beach
on
Lanai
This
is one of the most interesting beaches that you will visit.
It's on the island of Lana, a short ferry ride from Lahaina
Harbor in Lahaina Town on the west side of Maui.
The
best beach on the island of
Lanai is Hulopoe Beach on the southeastern side of the island.
In fact, it's just a short walk from the harbor at Manele
Bay.
Take
the ferry to Lanai from Maui. Photos of Hulopoe Beach Park!

Ho'okipa
Beach on the North
Shore
Of Maui
Ho'okipa
(also spelled Hookipa) Beach is on the windward side of Maui,
Hawaii. It is about 15 minutes north of the main airport in
Kahului on Hwy 36, and about 2 miles past the historic, sugar
plantation town of Paia.
The
road is also called the Hana Highway, as it's the road that
takes Maui visitors to the remote town of Hana.
Ho'okipa
Beach is well-known for being one of the best places on the
planet for windsurfing and kite boarding. The winds are strong
(as you will hear in the video below) and the waves are much
rougher on this side of the island, as compared to the calm
waters on the west side of Maui.
Planning
to drive to Hana? You will pass Ho'okipa Beach as you make
the drive
to Hana. It is also just past the famous Mama's
Fish House, where you might stop for an excellent dinner
on your return from Hana.
Ho'okipa
is just south of Maui's best surfing spot - Jaws. In the winter
months, Ho'okipa often has swells as high as 20 feet or more.
Even during the summer months, there are almost always surfers
at Ho'okipa Beach.
The
park at Ho'okipa has a large parking area. There are also
port-a-potties located near the entrance to the parking area.
Either
before arriving at Ho'okipa Beach, or on your way back from
Hana, stop and visit Paia. Paia is a small, quaint, plantation
town that offers a variety of shops, art galleries, clothing
boutiques, and restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The
Paia Fish Market offers
excellent fish tacos and some of the best fish and chips on
Maui. Also, stop at Charley's,
which is an excellent place for breakfast before starting
the drive to Hana.
Charley's is a good place to stop and relax on your way back
from Hana. The pizza is very good and they have a large selection
of beers.
The
island of Maui boasts some of the best beaches
in the world. Maui beaches are known for calm water that is
crystal-clear in the early morning hours.
Some
of the best beaches are in two distinct locations - West
Maui
and South Maui. These are not all of the beaches on Maui -
just a few of the best!
Take
a few minutes to look at some of Maui's best beaches!
One
of the best snorkeling locations on Maui is the well-known
Black Rock area on the western side of the island.
Black
Rock is oceanside to the Sheraton-Maui
Resort & Spa and is a calm, crystal-clear snorkeling spot
for beginners and small children.

Kaanapali
Resort Area
On
Maui's west side is one of the nicest resort, dining and shopping
areas on the island - Kaanapali. It's located just off Hwy.
30 and a mile past Lahaina
Town. Famous Black Rock beach is located in the Kaanapali
Beach Resort area, along with Whaler's Village, numerous resorts,
and plenty of shopping and dining.

Haleakala
Crater
At
just over 10,000 feet in the air, Hakeakala Crater is one
of the most amazing places to visit on Maui - and on the planet!
The drive to Haleakala
National Park takes you through the beautiful "upcountry"
section of Maui. It's a leisure drive and is a "must-see"
location while visiting the island. Photos!
