Humpback
Whales of Maui - Photos
The
native Hawaiian Humpback Whales come to the warm waters of
the islands starting in later October. They come to mate and
give birth and start leaving by the end of April.
The Humpback
Whales make one of the longest migrations of any mammal, traveling
over 2,500 miles between Hawaii and Alaska.
Humpback
Whales can be seen from all six of the Hawaiian islands -
Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and the Big Island.
These
photographs were taken off the coast of Lahaina Town on the
west side of Maui.
