Lanai
Shipwreck
Beach is one of the most interesting beaches that you will
visit.
It's on the island of Lana, a short ferry ride from Lahaina
Harbor in Lahaina Town on the west side of Maui.
The
best beach on the island of
Lanai is Hulopoe
Beach on the south side of the island. In fact, it's just
a short walk from the harbor at Manele Bay.

Paia
On The North Shore Of Maui
Founded
in 1870 by Samuel Alexander and Henry Baldwin, Paia was primarily
a sugar plantation town built to support the growing industry
on Maui. The original sugar mill is about a mile upcountry
from Paia on Baldwin Avenue, but closed in 2000.
Today,
Paia still has the plantation feel with its building
and architecture, but it's mostly known as the last major
stop for gas and food as visitors drive to Hana. It's an eclectic
mix of locally-made gifts, Hawaiian crafts, surf shops, and
restaurants.
The
well known Charley's restaurant
is on Hana Hwy. and Willie Nelson
can often be found there hanging out with his friends. Stop
in and try the pancakes in the morning and the pizza in the
evening.
Paia
is about 10 minutes from the intersection of Hana Highway
and Dairy Road and the entrance to the airport in Kahului.
It sits on Hwy. 36, has just one stop light, and has a public
parking area to your right as you approach the town.
Just
north of Paia are two well-known Maui landmarks - Mama's
Fish House and Ho'okipa beach. Mama's Fish House is annually
recognized as one of the top dining experiences on Maui,
and Ho'okipa beach is internationally known as a top wind
surfing and kite boarding/surfing location.
Another
excellent restaurant in Paia is the Paia
Fish Market. It's on the corner of Baldwin Avenue and
Hana Hwy. at the only traffic light. It known for excellent
fish and chips and fish tacos.
Paia
(pah-e-ah) has a unique character to the town, and if you're
planning to drive to Hana you should stop either going or
coming back and walk around this historic plantation town.
If you're not driving to
Hana, take a few hours and make the short drive to Paia.
It's
a captivating surfing, hippie, casual, laid-back town with
an assortment of shopping boutiques, art galleries, and island-wear
clothing stores.

Kaanapali
Resort Area
On
Maui's west side is one of the nicest resort, dining and shopping
areas on the island - Kaanapali. It's located just off Hwy.
30 and a mile past Lahaina
Town. Famous Black
Rock beach is located in the Kaanapali
Beach Resort area, along with Whaler's Village, numerous
resorts, and plenty of shopping and dining.
